Time Management System

 Functionality

The flowchart to the left is a functional diagram of how the Time Master system is used.  (Click on the image to enlarge in a new window.)

Information entered into the system is initially categorized as personal or school related.  The planner is structured to make this decision seamless.

Depending on the type of assignment - immediate, near-term or long-term, the student will enter the information related to the assignment in one - four places within the system:

Items requiring immediate action (less than 24 hours), can be written into the Memos & To-Do Lists.

Regular homework assignments are captured in the Task Manager.  The Task Manager pages are not just filled with empty blocks. They are designed for assignments, with ready resources and a notes section right on each page. Assignments are then scheduled on the Weekly/Daily Calendar to avoid conflicts and ensure adequate study time.

Long term assignments
are first entered in the Task Manager along with other assignments. Then, the due date of the assignment is written on the appropriate monthly calendar and, in the case of a project with a due date beyond a month, on the yearly calendar.  The project is then planned in the Project Manager. Once planned, the time required to complete the project is blocked out on the student's Weekly/Daily Calendar.

Personal activities are logged into the Memos & To-Do pages, Weekly/Daily Schedule pages and, in the case of a hobby or other long term home project, the Project Manager can be utilized.
